The Abe Personal Finance Usage Guide describes how to use Abe once it’s been installed and set up. It’s arranged the same way as the application itself. Note that each page other than the main menu has an icon in the upper left that returns to the main menu.

The transactions page shows the most recent transactions across all accounts.

The spending page shows where your money goes (and where it comes from).

Transaction import accepts files downloaded from your bank websites to bring transactions into Abe.

Settings

The settings page contains Accounts to manage which accounts Abe knows about, and Categories to add, rename, and organize categories.
